Russia launches continued drone attacks across Ukraine

Near-continuous air raid alerts continued across large parts of Ukraine for a third consecutive day on Aug. 29 as Russia launched further waves of drone attacks.

Axar.az reports, citing the Kyiv Independent, that Ukraine's military said air defenses shot down or suppressed 233 Russian drones overnight, with attacks targeting northern, southern, eastern and central regions.

Russian drones continued targeting Kyiv and surrounding areas into the morning.

Explosions were heard in Kyiv between around 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., while the city's air raid alert remained active.

The attacks have been intensified by Russia's increased use of jet-powered drones, which are difficult for Ukraine's air defenses to intercept.
