Finnish President Alexander Stubb has called on a European country to resume political dialogue with Russia, arguing that continued silence could lead Moscow to develop false perceptions about Europe's intentions.

Axar.az reports that Stubb made the remarks in an exclusive interview with BILD.

Despite Russia's hybrid attacks against Europe, Stubb said European countries should seek to maintain contact with the Kremlin.

“I believe someone in Europe (...) needs to resume dialogue with Russia in order to understand what is going on there. We need to talk to each other at the political level,” Stubb said.

Stubb warned that Moscow could come to believe that new threats are emerging from Europe even though they do not actually exist.
