Trump says he wants lunar feature named after him

US President Donald Trump said he would like a lunar feature to be named after him after the Artemis II crew proposed naming a lunar crater "Carroll" in honor of mission commander Reid Wiseman's late wife.

Axar.az reports that, speaking at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Trump praised the tribute to Carroll Taylor Wiseman, who died of cancer in 2020, before joking that he would like a similar honor.

"I wish they'd name something like that after me," Trump said.

The proposed name "Carroll" is not yet official and must be approved by the International Astronomical Union. There is currently no indication that an official process has begun to name a lunar feature after Trump.
