CIA chief did not meet Putin during Moscow visit

CIA Director John Ratcliffe did not meet Russian President Vladimir Putin during his Aug. 25 visit to Moscow.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made the remarks.

“There were contacts between the intelligence services. There were no meetings with the president of Russia. And that is all I can say on this matter. Of course, President Putin is immediately briefed on everything,” Peskov told reporters.

He described intelligence contacts between Russia and the United States as a positive phenomenon and a positive process.

Ratcliffe’s visit, the first to Moscow since he became CIA director in January 2025, was previously reported by CBS and later confirmed by sources cited by Axios.
