Two people were killed and eight others injured after multiple suspects opened fire at a block party in Trenton, New Jersey, early Sunday.

Axar.az reports, citing Fox News, that officers responded to reports of gunfire on Locust Street at around 12:25 a.m. and found 10 people with gunshot wounds.

The victims included a 33-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man who were pronounced dead. The eight injured victims, aged 23 to 43, were treated at a local hospital and stabilized.

Police said multiple suspects approached a crowd of about 100 people and fired more than 50 shots. No arrests have been made and no suspect descriptions have been released.

Trenton Mayor W. Reed Gusciora said one of the men killed had recently returned home from incarceration and had been recognized for his efforts toward “reentry and positive change.”
