Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar in Istanbul on Sunday to discuss bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues.

Axar.az reports, citing Anadolu, that the meeting was held at the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s Istanbul office.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said the two sides “expressed satisfaction at the continued strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations in the political, economic, security and cultural domains.”

Fidan and Dar also welcomed progress under the Pakistan-Turkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council and agreed to convene its next session at an early date, according to the Pakistani readout.

The ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments and reaffirmed their commitment to working closely to promote regional peace and stability.
