Attacked Russian cargo ship runs aground off Turkiye’s coast

The Russian-flagged cargo ship OMSKIY-107, which was attacked off the coast of Russia’s Novorossiysk Port, drifted and ran aground off the Alacali coast in Shile, Turkiye.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that the 108-meter-long vessel was seen drifting toward the shore, prompting authorities to dispatch coast guard teams to the area.

Security measures were taken around the grounded ship, whose bridge was seen to have been burned and heavily damaged.

The crew abandoned the vessel in lifeboats following the attack.
