Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia is “moving in the direction of ending” the war in Ukraine.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Putin made the remarks during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who urged him to end the war, saying that every day of fighting “sets humanity back.”

"Every day spent in war sets humanity back... We must move away from endless war toward ending the war. This is necessary for the well-being of humanity. A peaceful resolution of all issues as soon as possible is humanity’s call, and this is India’s message,” Modi said.

“Thank you very much, respected Prime Minister. We are moving along this path,” Putin said in response to Modi’s call for a peaceful resolution to the conflict as soon as possible.

Modi said India’s message was to move away from “endless war” toward ending the conflict for the benefit of humanity.
