Putin: Russia remains Armenia’s main trade partner

Russia remains Armenia’s main trade and economic partner, with bilateral trade reaching $2.5 billion since the beginning of 2026.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Russian President Vladimir Putin made the remarks during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on September 1.

According to the Kremlin chief, the sooner Armenia decides on joining the European Union, the better, as Moscow needs to understand how to further develop relations.
