Putin: Russia ready to withdraw from Armenia

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia is ready to withdraw its military base from Armenia if Yerevan decides it is no longer needed.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Putin said: “If Armenia believes that it does not need a Russian military base in Armenia, we can withdraw tomorrow. But is Armenia ready for this? If they are, we are not imposing ourselves."

“But if the Armenian people want to have some Russian military presence in the country, then we will stay there,” he added.
