Putin: Karabakh recognition could bring benefits to Armenia

Russian President Vladimir Putin told journalists on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit that recognizing Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan could bring a number of positive consequences for Armenia.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that he suggested that the situation could allow Armenia to enter a new phase of development free from conflicts.

“This situation allows the country [Armenia] to turn the page and move forward without any conflicts. To resettle people in a new place of residence, unblock infrastructure, start a new life in the economy, open borders to investment, and so on. There are, in fact, quite a few advantages,” he said.
