Ukraine confirms destruction of two Russian aircraft

Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck several Russian military targets on Sept. 1 and overnight into Sept. 2, 2026, including ammunition and military equipment depots.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukraine’s General Staff Telegram channel, that an ammunition depot was hit in Volodymyrivka, Donetsk region, while a Russian military logistics depot was struck in Ocheretyne, also in Donetsk region.

In Rechytsa, Bryansk region, Russian weapons and military equipment were targeted. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

The General Staff also confirmed, following an analysis of additional data, the destruction of a Russian Ka-27 helicopter near the Yeysk airfield in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai on Aug. 30.

It also confirmed the destruction of a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet near the Millerovo airfield in Russia’s Rostov region on Aug. 27.

The General Staff said operations against key Russian military targets are continuing.
