Trump floats renaming Strait of Hormuz ‘Trump Strait’

US President Donald Trump has suggested renaming the Strait of Hormuz as the “Trump Strait” amid the ongoing war with Iran.

Axar.az reports that, in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump wrote: “Now that we have it under U.S.A. control, should we change the name Hormuz Strait to TRUMP STRAIT??? Like America itself, it would be ‘hotter’ than ever before! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

The Strait of Hormuz carried around 20 million barrels of crude oil and petroleum products per day before the war began on Feb. 28.
