US President Donald Trump said the United States carried out a “very heavy attack” on Iran and is prepared to launch another strike “anytime we want.”

Axar.az reports, citing CBS News, that speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said the strikes were carried out in response to an Iranian attack on US forces in Jordan.

"We hit them last night because they took a shot at our base in Jordan," Trump said. "We hit them hard last night. They gave a little love-tap, but we hit them hard."

Trump also added that US forces "took out all of the new equipment that they tried to build along the Strait of Hormuz."
