Regime change in Iran remains Israel’s ‘main task’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that toppling Iran’s government is Israel’s main remaining objective, describing the goal as being “within arm’s reach.”

Axar.az reports, citing Israel National News, that speaking at a gathering with Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and senior military commanders in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu said the Iranian regime was weaker than ever and fighting for its survival.

"This regime is faltering. It is weaker than ever. It is fighting for its survival, and I am confident that we can accomplish the main mission before us. I believe in the capabilities of our heroic soldiers, our heroic pilots and navigators, our entire defense apparatus, our home front and our strong people," Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu said Israel had already removed threats posed by Iran, including its nuclear capabilities, and expressed confidence that Israel could "remove this threat once and for all” by bringing down the Iranian regime.

"I am convinced of our ability to remove this threat once and for all. That is, to topple this regime. That is the main task still before us, but it is close. It is not impossible. It is in arm's reach," he said.
