Heavy rain triggers landslide in Nepal - Video

Landslide blocks Chameliya River in Nepal, threatens nearby villages.

Axar.az reports, citing Nepali media, that a large landslide in Bhatar, in Nepal, blocked the Chameliya River for about half an hour after continuous rain.

The landslide washed away farmland and put 10 to 15 families in Bhatar village at high risk. Water has begun flowing again as the river cuts through the landslide, but authorities warned that the continued rain could increase the flow and pose further risks downstream.

Local authorities have begun relocating residents and livestock from the affected area to safety, while security personnel have been deployed to the site.
