Swedish-made ASC 890 begins combat missions over Ukraine

The Swedish-made ASC 890 AWACS aircraft has begun conducting combat missions over Ukraine.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that the aircraft is capable of detecting airborne targets at long range, coordinating fighter aircraft and enhancing their effectiveness.

Sweden announced in May 2024 that it would provide Ukraine with ASC 890 aircraft as part of a military aid package. Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said the aircraft began its first combat missions over Ukraine in March 2026.
