EU approves measure to boost Ukraine’s air defense

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said EU member states had agreed on a derogation allowing Ukraine to purchase crucial products for Patriot air defense systems.

Axar.az reports, in a post on X, von der Leyen stated that the funding comes on top of €8.4 billion already disbursed under the Ukraine Support Loan.

“The next disbursement of €3.2 billion will enable Ukraine to better protect its skies from Russia’s indiscriminate attacks. This comes on top of €8.4 billion already disbursed under the Ukraine Support Loan, including for air defence," she stated.

“ We will continue to work hand in hand to support Ukraine and to strengthen Europe’s defence posture,” von der Leyen added.
