Russia and Turkiye held another round of inter-ministerial consultations in Moscow on September 8-9, with discussions focusing on developments in the South Caucasus and Central Asia, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Mehmet Samsar, director of the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s Department of Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, was received by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and held consultations with the heads of Russia’s Third and Fourth CIS Departments.

The sides stressed that outside initiatives that could create new dividing lines in Central Asia and the South Caucasus are unacceptable, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

They also expressed interest in maintaining regular work within the “3+3” Regional Cooperation Platform, involving Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia, along with Russia, Iran and Turkiye, as a mechanism for strengthening regional stability and security based on the principle of “regional responsibility.”
