Trump says Putin wants to make deal on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to reach a deal to end the war in Ukraine.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters, before boarding Air Force One for Dallas, Trump told reporters that “He (Putin) is wanting to make a deal, and if Zelensky is wanting to make a deal, that’d be very nice.”

Trump said he had a “great” phone conversation with Putin on Tuesday, shortly after US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, returned from talks in Moscow and Kyiv on possible proposals to end the war.

“The holdup is two people who hate each other,” Trump said.
