Russia-Ukraine war should end in Istanbul

Turkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) spokesman Omer Celik has called for an immediate end to the Russia-Ukraine war and a return to negotiations in Istanbul.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that speaking at a news conference, Celik said the conflict had turned into a war of attrition, with neither side achieving a development capable of fundamentally changing its course.

“War is bad in every respect,” Celik said, warning of further loss of life and the risk of the conflict spreading to a wider region.

“This cycle must end as soon as possible, and a table must be set up in Istanbul so that a conclusion can finally be reached,” Celik said.
