Princess Astrid of Norway has died at the age of 94, just two days after attending the state funeral of her younger brother, King Harald V.

Axar.az reports that the Norwegian Royal House announced her death on Friday, saying she had “passed away peacefully” earlier that day.

King Haakon ordered the flag above the Royal Palace to be flown at half-mast on Friday and again on the day of Princess Astrid’s funeral. Details of the funeral have not yet been announced.

Astrid attended King Harald’s funeral at Oslo Cathedral on September 9. She had arrived in a wheelchair after experiencing health problems in recent months.

Following Harald’s death, Astrid became the last surviving child of King Olav V and Crown Princess Martha. Their older daughter, Princess Ragnhild, died in 2012.

Born on February 12, 1932, Astrid assumed the role of Norway’s first lady after her mother’s death in 1954 and continued performing royal and charitable duties for decades.

She married Johan Martin Ferner in 1961, and they had five children. She was hospitalized with pneumonia earlier this year and later received treatment for heart failure and was fitted with a temporary pacemaker.
