NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said a Russian drone strike on a passenger train near Ukraine’s border with Poland would not deter Western support for Kyiv.

Axar.az reports, citing the Guardian, that the drone struck a passenger train on Sunday shortly after a convoy carrying senior diplomats and former leaders, including former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former US General David Petraeus, had passed through the area. Ukrainian Railways said the earlier train may have been the intended target.

“He thinks that he can stops us from supporting Ukraine and that he can undermine our unity. He is wrong. Our answer is to increase support,” Rutte said.

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham also condemned the attack, calling it “a futile attempt by Russia to undermine our support for Ukraine. It will not deter us.”
