A drone has crashed in an uninhabited area east of Steinhuder Meer in Germany, prompting a major police operation to search for further debris.

Axar.az reports that, citing Bild, that parts of the drone were found on Monday. The crash site is located about one kilometer from the Bundeswehr’s Wunstorf airfield.

Numerous police officers are searching the area for additional wreckage. Authorities said there is currently no indication of any danger to the public.

The origin and ownership of the drone remain unclear. Investigators are expected to examine the recovered parts to determine where the drone came from and the circumstances of the crash.
