Ukraine awaits Russia’s list for energy ceasefire

Ukraine is ready to introduce an energy ceasefire with Russia but is waiting for Moscow to provide a list of facilities to be covered by the agreement, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi said.

Axar.az reports, citing RBC-Ukraine, that Tykhyi said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had already outlined Kyiv’s position, stressing that all Ukrainian energy facilities should be protected and attacks against them with any type of weapon should be prohibited.

“If the Russians are serious about this, let them provide lists of the facilities and clarify the details. We are waiting for this... We would like Russia to also demonstrate its readiness for this de-escalation. I think then all the necessary solutions can be found,” Tykhyi said.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said U.S. efforts to reach an energy ceasefire were an important and timely step, adding that other partner countries were also working on agreements concerning energy and grain exports.
