EU assistance to Ukraine since the start of the war has exceeded €220 billion, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said during a debate in the European Parliament.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that the European Union and its member states have provided more than €78 billion in military aid to Ukraine.

She added that an EU loan to support Ukraine provides for €90 billion in funding over two years, including €60 billion earmarked for military needs.

Kallas said the EU has already disbursed €8.35 billion of the loan.

"€8.35 billion has already been disbursed, including funds allocated for Patriot missiles. Russia’s goal is to continue the war next year as well. We must continue supporting Ukraine,” Kallas said.

She also said the EU could provide another €1 billion in military support through the European Peace Facility.

"We could provide another €1 billion in new funding for military support. I am working with member states to allocate these funds,” she added.
