Ireland will not participate in or broadcast the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest.

Axar.az reports, citing Irish public broadcaster RTE, that its position on participation remains unchanged, citing the ongoing loss of life in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis there. The broadcaster also said it was deeply concerned about the continued lack of independent access for international journalists to Gaza.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) said it regretted RTÉ’s decision but respected it.

Ireland also withdrew from the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna and did not broadcast the competition after the EBU confirmed that Israeli public broadcaster KAN would be allowed to participate.

The 2027 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, with the final set for May 15.

The full list of participating countries has not yet been announced.
