Russia and China vetoed a UN Security Council draft resolution seeking to extend for one year, until September 2027, the mandate of the panel of experts monitoring sanctions on Iran.
Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that the draft was prepared by the United States. Eleven of the 15 Security Council members voted in favor, while Somalia and Pakistan abstained.
The vetoes by Russia and China blocked the extension of the experts’ mandate.
