Tanker hit by unknown projectile in Strait of Hormuz

A tanker has been hit by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz.

Axar.az reports that United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said in a post on X that the vessel’s company security officer reported the incident, which caused a fire on board. The fire has since been extinguished, and all crew members are reported to be safe.

UKMTO said the environmental impact of the incident remains unconfirmed.

Vessels have been advised to transit the Strait of Hormuz with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO while authorities investigate the incident.
