Two Israeli soldiers were lightly wounded after an Israeli military engineering vehicle struck an explosive device in southern Lebanon on Saturday, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

Axar.az reports, citing the IDF, that the incident occurred inside the area the IDF calls the Security Zone. The military attributed the explosive device to Hezbollah.

The wounded soldiers were evacuated to hospital in good condition, and their families were notified, according to the IDF.

The Israeli military said it carried out strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in several areas of southern Lebanon in response. The targets included observation posts and sites the IDF said were used to plan and carry out attacks against Israeli forces.
