Ukraine has called on governments around the world to take action against Russian cultural centers, accusing them of being used for disinformation, destabilization, and espionage.

Axar.az reports that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, in a post on X, welcomed measures taken by European countries to block the network, including Germany, where he said the Russian House in Berlin was closed after years of what he described as malign influence.

"Russia is waging a global battle for the minds of people through a comprehensive network of tools and channels, including Rossotrudnichestvo and so-called Russkiy Dom (“Russian House”) cultural centers. They in fact serve as tools for disinformation, destabilisation, and espionage," Sybil stated.

“Our shared European home is not the place for ‘Russian houses’ promoting war propaganda and actively working to shatter peace in Europe,” Sybiha added.

He claimed that some such centers continue to operate in at least seven European countries and that the network is even larger in Africa, Central and Eastern Asia, the Asia-Pacific region and South America.

Sybiha said Ukraine had officially contacted governments worldwide, urging them to completely close their operations.

"Ukraine has officially addressed governments across the globe to recognize the threat for their national security posed by this network. We provided arguments for limiting their operations and closing them entirely," he continued.
