Turkiye does not want Saudi Arabia to become further involved in the ongoing regional conflict, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said.

Axar.az reports, citing NTV, that Fidan said Ankara was closely monitoring attacks by Yemen’s Houthis against Saudi Arabia and viewed the kingdom’s territorial integrity and sovereignty as seriously threatened.

“We do not accept Saudi Arabia becoming part of the equation in the ongoing war and conflict between Iran and the United States,” Fidan said.

He said Turkiye was committed to its alliance obligations under the Mekka Alliance and would continue to monitor developments closely. Fidan added that Turkiye could provide assistance to Saudi Arabia for certain military and technical needs if required.

Fidan also said Ankara was working to prevent the conflict from expanding further and stressed the need for regional solutions to regional problems.
