Romanian President Nicusor Dan went viral in Ukraine after footage showed him adjusting his socks while standing next to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a summit.

Axar.az reports, citing Romanian media, that a Ukrainian journalist filmed Dan lifting one leg at a time to adjust his socks during Friday’s inaugural Summit of the Initiative for Carpathian Integration in Ukraine’s Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The moment attracted attention on social media, with footage showing Zelensky looking twice toward his Romanian counterpart.

Dan attended the summit at Zelensky’s invitation. During the meeting, Zelensky said the initiative would promote cooperation among Carpathian countries in areas including security, energy, logistics, and cross-border economic ties.

Dan called for closer regional cooperation on infrastructure, border crossings and energy connections, as well as tourism and environmental protection.
