Ukraine reports further advances in northern Donetsk

Ukrainian forces have made further advances in northern Donetsk Oblast as part of Operation Vivaldi.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that Petro Horbatenko, chief of staff and deputy commander of Ukraine’s Third Army Corps, said the operation was continuing in its first phase. He said Ukrainian forces had cleared several settlements in the area, including Rai-Oleksandrivka, in addition to the previously reported liberation of Serednie and the clearing of Korovii Yar, Novoselivka, Yarova and Oleksandrivka.

“We continue to move forward. The figure that was announced is one number, and it will increase over time. There will be new information about successes and liberated settlements. We simply cannot disclose and discuss everything yet,” Horbatenko said.

Horbatenko said Russian forces were attempting to deploy additional troops to the sector, while Ukrainian units were taking measures to stabilize the situation around Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

Ukraine has officially reported that its forces have cleared 75 square kilometers and liberated 10 square kilometers during Operation Vivaldi.
