Lithuania signs long-term US LNG supply deal

Lithuania has signed its first long-term agreement to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States.

Axar.az reports, citing Lithuania’s Energy Ministry, that the ministry said the deal with US energy company EQT will secure LNG supplies for 10 years, covering around 40% of the country’s annual household gas demand.

The ministry said the agreement will strengthen Lithuania’s energy security, diversify its gas supplies and help secure more competitive prices for consumers.
