Russia has introduced a curfew regime in the Kingisepp and Slantsy districts near the border with Estonia, in the vicinity of Narva. The measures include various restrictions on movement.

Axar.az informs, citing Delfi, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said the restrictions are aimed at preventing border violations and illegal migration, as well as protecting the “aquatic biological resources” of Lake Peipus. The restrictions will remain in effect until September 26.

According to Andris Viltsin, a representative of Estonia’s Border Guard, Estonian officials were aware in advance that Russia would temporarily introduce movement restrictions in several areas near the Estonian border, although Russia did not officially provide this information.
