Russia has no illusions about the current course of Armenia’s authorities, Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Gen. Oleg Salyukov said.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that Salyukov said Moscow bases its assessment on documents already signed and commitments undertaken by Yerevan.

“We do not have any illusions regarding the current course of the Armenian authorities and proceed from an analysis of the documents already signed and the commitments undertaken,” Salyukov said.

He pointed to the 2025 Armenia-US Strategic Partnership Charter, which states that “deepening Armenia’s integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions is a shared priority” and that the two sides “plan to expand cooperation in the areas of security and reform programs aimed at enhancing interoperability.”

“This means a political commitment to a course toward NATO standards,” Salyukov said.
