Kazakhstan president dismisses defense minister

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has relieved Dauren Kossanov of his duties as defense minister.

Axar.az reports, citing Kazakh media, that the decision was made by presidential decree.

It should be noted that on September 24, 17 servicemen were swept into the Caspian Sea during military exercises in the Mangystau Region after weather conditions sharply deteriorated. Three were rescued, while 14 died.
