Turkiye’s Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran has commemorated Azerbaijani servicemen who were killed during the struggle for the liberation of Karabakh.

Axar.az reports that Duran shared a message on X on September 27, Azerbaijan’s Remembrance Day, honoring the country’s fallen servicemen and veterans.

“The struggle for the liberation of Karabakh stands as one of the most powerful examples of courage, sacrifice and love of homeland etched into the memory of our recent history,” Duran said.

He said he commemorated with mercy and gratitude the “heroic sons” of Azerbaijan who sacrificed their lives for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and expressed gratitude to veterans.

Duran also emphasized the ties between Türkiye and Azerbaijan under the concept of “two states, one nation,” saying their shared history and bonds of kinship would endure.

“Qarabağ Azərbaycandır [Karabakh is Azerbaijan]!” he added.
