Iran president calls for Car-Free Tuesdays to save energy

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for the serious implementation of “Car-Free Tuesdays” as part of efforts to reduce energy consumption.

Axar.az reports, citing IRNA, that speaking at a cabinet meeting, Pezeshkian urged people to avoid using cars on Tuesdays and called for energy conservation to ensure electricity supplies for production units and prevent disruptions during winter.

He also stressed the need to promote the policy through public participation and said reducing energy consumption would help maintain industrial activity.
