The international coalition has handed over all its bases and headquarters in Iraq, and no coalition combat or training forces will remain after Sept. 30, Saad Maan, head of Iraq's Security Media and Public Relations Authority, said.

Axar.az reports, citing Iraqi media, that Maan said relations with coalition members would continue through bilateral arrangements after the mission ends.

“The international coalition has handed over all its bases and headquarters to the Iraqi authorities. There are no combat or military forces of the international coalition in Iraq,” Maan said.

“There will be no coalition combat or training forces after Sept. 30, and Iraq is ready to take over and manage security after the coalition’s withdrawal,” he added.

The withdrawal completes a drawdown agreed by Baghdad and Washington in 2024 to end the coalition mission established in 2014 to fight Islamic State.
