Authorities in Turkiye’s Ankara province have restricted access to 417 websites linked to illegal betting, fraud and pornographic content.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that authorities reviewed 760 social media accounts and URLs during internet monitoring and open-source investigations conducted from September 21 to 27.

The investigation identified 341 websites offering illegal betting services, six involved in phishing-related fraud and 70 distributing pornographic content. Information about the websites was submitted to the Information Technologies and Communications Authority, which imposed access restrictions.

Authorities also continued investigating cyber incidents reported this year in which the perpetrators had not initially been identified.

A sophisticated fraud case recorded in Ankara’s Cankaya district was investigated under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, leading to the identification of a suspect. Legal proceedings against the suspect have been initiated.
