The U.S. Treasury Department has sanctioned 10 individuals and entities in several countries over their role in procuring weapons and weapons components for Iran’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL).

Axar.az reports, citing the U.S. Treasury, that the sanctions were imposed under Executive Order 13382 as part of “Operation Economic Outcast,” targeting networks supporting Iran’s military procurement activities.

Treasury said the sanctioned network includes individuals and companies in Iran, China, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Washington would continue targeting those providing material, technological or financial support to Iran’s military and other activities.

As a result of the sanctions, the designated individuals and entities’ property and interests in property under U.S. jurisdiction are blocked. U.S. persons are generally prohibited from conducting transactions involving the blocked persons unless authorized by OFAC.
