A rescue flight carrying passengers from Flydubai flight FZ1073 landed at Ben-Gurion Airport on Wednesday after departing from Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk Airport.

Axar.az reports, citing The Jerusalem Post, that all passengers from the original flight, which was involved in an earlier attempted hijacking, boarded the rescue flight.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Transportation Minister Miri Regev were at the airport to welcome the passengers. Medical teams were also on standby.

Magen David Adom said a 51-year-old male passenger with a mild upper-body injury was taken to hospital.

According to Israeli media, 166 of the flight’s 174 passengers were Israeli citizens.

The rescue flight’s crew was approved by Israel’s Mossad and Shin Bet.

The Flydubai aircraft traveling from the UAE to Tel Aviv had earlier issued an emergency signal over suspected hijacking. It was later revealed that a confrontation had occurred between the pilots on board.
