Iran has held its first military training session for women participating in the “Janfeda” volunteer campaign.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, that the training was held at a training centre in Imam Hussein Square in Tehran.

The campaign provides civilians with training in military skills, as well as procedures for responding to emergencies and other critical situations.

The training was the first such event for women participating in the Janfeda programme. Iranian authorities are expanding the programme to increase the number of volunteers capable of responding during military conflicts and emergencies.
