Russian General Sergey Nikitushkin detained in Moscow

A Moscow military court has ordered the detention of Major General Sergey Nikitushkin, head of the Training and Material Base Department at the Main Directorate of Combat Training of the Russian Armed Forces.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that the 235th Garrison Military Court considered a request from the Investigative Committee’s Main Military Investigation Directorate at a hearing on the evening of September 30. Prosecutors argued that Nikitushkin could interfere with the investigation if released. His defense team called for a less restrictive measure.

Investigators have not disclosed details of the criminal case or the specific allegations against the general.

It should be noted that Nikitushkin is a veteran of the Second Military District and was promoted to major general on December 9, 2024. He is involved in the modernization of tank training grounds in Russia.
