Two workers killed in Turkiye mine collapse

Two workers have been killed and two others rescued after a mine collapse in Turkiye’s western province of Manisa.

Axar.az reports, citing Haberturk, that seven workers were affected by the collapse. Two were rescued and taken to hospital, while three workers remain trapped underground. Search and rescue operations are continuing.

Turkiye’s Justice Minister Akin Gurlek said an investigation had been launched and three prosecutors had been assigned to the case.

The Manisa Governor’s Office said a crisis centre had been established under its coordination and that emergency teams had been dispatched to the scene.

Health Minister Kemal Memisoglu said the two rescued workers were receiving treatment in hospital and were in good general condition.
