Taliban government to buy weapons and drones from Belarus

The Taliban is buying drones and military equipment from Belarus with financial support from India.

Axar.az reports, citing Afghanistan International, that Taliban officials have made a series of visits to Belarus in recent months, including visits by the health and industry ministers. The growing contacts have officially been described as efforts to expand economic and trade cooperation.

According to the report, military ties between the Taliban and Belarus intensified after Taliban Defense Minister Mohammad Yaqoob's visit to Moscow and talks on military cooperation.

The report said drones have become increasingly important to the Taliban, particularly in its conflict with Pakistan. The group has expanded its use of attack drones and quadcopters, while Pakistan has accused Taliban forces of launching drones into its territory.
