Iranian Oil Minister Paknejad resigns

Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has resigned, with President Masoud Pezeshkian accepting his resignation and appointing Hamid Bovard as acting oil minister, the president’s office said on Sunday.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, that Bovard, who heads the state-run National Iranian Oil Company, will take over as acting minister following Paknejad’s departure.

No reason was given for Paknejad’s resignation. He had served as oil minister since August 2024.
