Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and National Defence Minister Yashar Guler attended a committee meeting of the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement in Riyadh on Monday.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters, that Chief of General Staff General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu also took part in the meeting of the Strategic Political and Defense Committee.

Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed the defence agreement in August at a trilateral summit in Mecca, pledging to strengthen collective security, deepen defence cooperation and promote peace and stability in the region.

Officials provided no further details about Monday’s meeting.
